But prevention always comes first, so when buying, choose a healthy-looking plant that is neither overwatered nor withered. Make sure that it has nice leaves and look at the bottom to see if you happen to see any pests. For the first few days, watch her do well in her new home.
A striking plant with shiny leaves that is really easy to care for. It can grow even in a lack of light, and because it grows from tubers that hold water, it doesn't need to be watered very often. Once every 14 days is definitely enough. If you ever forget, you won't even know it. It doesn't even need to be transplanted often, the plant likes to 'squeeze' in the pot. Transplant it when the flowerpot literally tears apart with its roots. You can fertilize from spring to autumn, thus guaranteeing it a long life. Zamioculcas is almost ubiquitous, but rightly so, it is a truly grateful plant. There is also its rarer black variant called Raven .
Mother-in-law's tongue is almost immortal. You really can't go wrong with them! It thrives in semi-shade and in a very bright place, it is enough to water even once every three weeks. It is a perfect plant for beginners, including children, who can learn from it how easily the plant propagates (more on that in the next article...). There are a large number of sansevierias in terms of colors and sizes. They look great in the company of other plants as well as solitary plants. Like zamioculcas, this plant does not need frequent repotting. Transplant only when it no longer fits in the pot.
Dracaenas are known and popular for their unpretentiousness. It is enough if we follow a few principles. They don't like direct sun because it could burn the thin tips of the leaves. Browning of the tips of the leaves is also often associated with poor water quality - so let it stand for a few days before watering, so that the chlorine evaporates from it. The best for watering is rainwater, standing at room temperature. If you don't have a rainwater tank, standing tap water is enough. They prefer a warmer environment without drafts, but that's really all they need for a happy life. It will repay you with its interesting appearance and long service life.
Another great unpretentious plant are specimens from the genus peperomia. There are over 1000 species, they are very diverse, but they all have similar demands. Above all, we must not overwater them, otherwise they will grow really well. Sufficient indirect light and a substrate for indoor plants mixed with peat and sand suit them. Do not forget about drainage so that the roots do not stand in water. With proper care, they grow relatively quickly and flower often. We can easily multiply them, just let the leaves take root in a glass of water.
Ideal plants for forgetful growers - they need a minimum of water, almost none in winter. They will thrive in a bright location, otherwise they will chase the light and be unsightly. Apart from that, they are really undemanding. When transplanting, do not forget about a sufficient drainage layer so that the roots do not rot.
A noble name for a noble plant, which, surprisingly, does not have high demands. She will be happy in a bright/slightly bright location with light watering. Be sure to let it dry out between individual waterings, it keeps water in its leaves. Hoya comes in many varieties, usually the easiest to grow are the species with larger, flat leaves, such as Hoya Carnosa. In good conditions, it grows quite quickly and even produces fragrant flowers. It will surely bring you joy.
In a way, these species are also one of the simpler ones, if we follow their requirements. They need to dry out between waterings, the roots must not sit in water. On the other hand, they like moister air, so we can mist them from time to time. If we want them to be nicely overgrown, it will be necessary to trim them (and they can be easily multiplied this way), or to direct their growth. Compared to the plants mentioned above, they are therefore more demanding in this respect, but they can also raise the self-confidence of beginning growers, because they grow really fast.
