Our visit to Dutch growers
Last week we went on an unforgettable trip to Holland. Our DMP team had a clear goal: to discover new and rare plant species for our new store in Karlín, which we are going to open during the summer (we will tell you more soon) and e-shop. And where else to look for inspiration than in a country famous for its greenhouses and varied selection of plants?
Our journey began in Rotterdam, a modern city full of innovation. Although we spent some time exploring the town, our main focus was on the greenhouses in the area. We were all excited about what treasures we could discover. Each greenhouse we visited gave us amazing views of a wide variety of plants, from staples to rare species we had never seen before.

Day after Day
Day 1: Visit to the grower's greenhouse
On the first day, we went to the greenhouse of our main grower, from where we send all orders from the e-shop. It was important for us to make sure of the freshness of the plants and their precise packaging. Our expectations were more than met - we saw the care and professionalism with which each plant is prepared for shipment. We already have several new types of plants and accessories in our sights, which we will soon add to our e-shop.

2. Day: Visit of interesting growers
The next day we went to interesting growers who grow rare types of plants. One of the growers specialized in Aglaonemas, Tillandsias, Succulents and many others. It was fascinating to learn that Tillandsias try to grow in a maximum humidity of 60% so they don't get shock and acclimatise when they arrive at your home. This approach showed us how important attention to detail is in growing plants.
Gymnocalycum variegata & TillandsiaAnother grower devoted himself only to rare species. We're sorry we can't show you everything we saw. This grower guards his treasures and they will not come to the market for years. But don't worry, as soon as they're available, we'll have them on offer too! Here we will at least show you a few pieces that we were able to photograph. These are mainly rare pieces of Anthuriums.
- Amsterdam Day and the Botanical Garden
We spent the third day in the botanical gardens. Amsterdam captivated us not only with its flora, but also with its picturesque canals and historic buildings.
Thanks to this trip, we gained not only new products, but also a lot of inspiration and ideas for how our store and e-shop can look like in the future. They came back with new ideas and energy. We look forward to introducing you to all the new plants we've discovered, and we're sure you'll be as fascinated as we are. We are already looking forward to our next trip together to Holland. We never get tired of these visits to growers!
