Kokedama is a special way of growing plants, literally translated "moss ball", originating from Japan. Kokedama consists of a plant, a special substrate ( black clay ketotsuchi ), other components ( Akadama, zeolite, pumice, sand and peat ) are additionally mixed into the clay. From these materials, a suitable plant is perfectly wrapped in a "ball" and the whole is covered with moss. Traditionally, kokedams are hung on string, macrame or placed on wet pebbles or other material.

Caring for a kokedama

We take care of each kokedama according to the type of plant we have in it. Kokedamu water with boiled/boiled water approximately once a week. Kokedama is bothered by chlorine, we do not recommend water directly from the tap. Just place the kokedama in water for a few minutes, let it drain and hang it up again. You can tell if it needs to be watered by the weight of the kokedama and also by how dry your moss ball is. You can moss ball dew to keep the moss bale still moist. Kokedama is not recommended to be placed in direct sunlight.

Aglaonema (also Chinese evergreen or even "sleeping virgin") is best known for its beautifully colored lanceolate leaves that grow in bunches. This particular type of 'snow white' aglaonema attracts attention mainly due to its really white (to slightly yellow) colored leaves, which have green edges and petioles.
In the summer, the plant may have delicate inflorescences of yellow or white quivers, which turn into poisonous berries after flowering. Aglaonema belongs to the popular, fast-growing and very undemanding houseplants, however, due to its white leaves, this cultivar is light-demanding.

We wrote more about kokedamas in our article.

svetlo Light

The plant thrives best in a bright location where it will have enough light.

zalivka Watering

We never let the substrate dry completely. In winter, on the other hand, we limit watering.

vzduch Humidity

The plant likes dry air and therefore does not require an increase in air humidity (we do not sow the plant).

mnozeni Propagation

Stem cuttings that root in water or soil.

problemy Common problems

  • Overwatering: Too much water can cause root rot, yellowing and leaf drop.
  • Stress and changes in conditions: The plant can react to a change in conditions (e.g. habitat but also to a draft) by drooping or dropping leaves (it can give the impression that it lacks water - don't be fooled!). However, after getting used to the new conditions, new ones will sprout.

Delivery to the address by courier

We ship live plant orders Monday through Thursday. If we cannot prepare your shipment within these days, we will send it again the following week. We want to avoid plants being left in the depot for long periods of time, which is especially important during the winter months when cold conditions can harm them.

Individual shipping prices:

1. DPD

A DPD courier will contact you the day before delivery with the exact delivery date. If you would like to redirect the shipment to the collection point, you can make arrangements directly with the carrier. In the winter months, however, we strongly do not recommend redirecting to the delivery boxes, as low temperatures can damage the plants. In this case, we cannot be held responsible for the condition of the plants and complaints will not be accepted.

The price of delivery of plants and accessories throughout the Czech Republic is 149 CZK, to Slovakia 8 €.

2. Post office

You can have the selected goods delivered to the delivery point of Zásilkovna in the Czech Republic for CZK 89 or in Slovakia for €5. All you have to do is select the delivery option "Delivery" when ordering. After completing your order, you will be able to use the map to select a specific delivery location.

Keep in mind that the Post Office has restrictions on package dimensions and weight. If you don't see the Post Office option, you probably have bulky products in your cart and you need to choose another carrier. In the winter months, we strongly do not recommend choosing delivery to Z-Boxes due to the risk of the plants dying in the cold. In this case, we are not responsible for the condition of the plants and the claim will not be accepted.

3. Personal collection

You can pick up your order for free in person at the address Křižíkova 55/65, Prague 8. Once your order is ready, we will send you an e-mail with information about the possibility of picking it up. If you do not collect the order within 3 working days , or if you do not inform us of another collection date, it will be automatically cancelled .
